twelve competencies, scored against the senior-PM bar. you leave with a map of where you're strong, where you're thin, and the one gap to fix first.

    mentor matching

We read your scan (or your intake notes) and match you to a mentor whose past work overlaps your exact gap — industry, stage, the specific decision you're stuck on. If we can't match well, we say so.

    • deliberate — not a roster lottery
    • we will reject the match if it is weak

    ongoing program, if it fits

If the fit is right, continue into a structured program: same mentor, regular sessions, feedback on real work through the quarter. If not, we part cleanly — you keep the notes from session one.

    • continuity is where judgment actually shifts

a roadmap the unstated assumptions you're betting the quarter on.
a strategy memo steelmanned, then attacked. the gaps become visible.
a job take-home marked before it goes. not after.
an interview debrief why you lost it. the diagnosis, not just the edit.
a career decision frames you're missing. pattern-matched against real PM careers.

Talvinder Singh

Four companies over eighteen years. Product head at OYO (led the pivot from marketplace to owned inventory). Founded Tushky — 500 Startups Batch 6, 2013. Founded Pragmatic Leaders — YC W21, now 10,000+ PMs trained. Currently building Zopdev (devops) and Ostronaut (AI-native learning).

I have reviewed thousands of PRDs, sat through hundreds of mock interviews, and watched hundreds of career transitions either compound or stall. I work through your real artifacts — your PRD, your roadmap, your interview loop, the actual decision you're stuck on. Feedback that changes how you think, not just what you wrote that week.

the curriculum that trained the mentors you're reading about.

We were the first cohort-based PM program in India. Three-month, six-month, nine-month structures that have since become the default — we wrote that playbook. Many senior mentors you meet on other platforms today got their first coaching reps teaching across our cohorts. Their names are here because that history is real; none are taking new sessions at present. Talvinder is the active mentor on this page.

the arc. before and after.

Business Analyst Product Manager

From Business Analyst, I was able to transition my career into a Product Manager role. The biggest benefit was the exhaustive curriculum designed by Talvinder and their continuous support for the students even after the course period is completed. I enrolled with a pay-after-placement option and was able to crack 3 interviews at the end of the course period.

Hareendhar Annabathula
PGC — 21
Project Manager · OneFin 200% salary hike

The training is as per the industry standards — from day 1 you are prepared for making a better PM. My favourite part was the interactive session where you prepare a case-study solution and present it to the mentor and other candidates. A special thanks to Talvinder — the constant guidance and follow-ups from the placement team made it real.

Mithilesh Indulkar
PGDPM — 34
Software Engineer · Programmers.io 80% salary hike

The course is quite in-depth and the mentor is quite helpful. The best thing I found is resume building and placement support. Special thanks to my mentor Talvinder who has great product knowledge for helping me throughout the course and providing his experience and guidance for enhancing my career.

Prateek Anand
PGDPM — 36

Without Talvinder's support I would not have gotten this opportunity at my current organisation. I still remember Talvinder pinged me saying that he shared my resume within his close circle and in 1–2 hrs I got a couple of calls from different start-ups. I don't think it's that easy to get a call that quick.

Abhishek Singh Dhabi
ECPM — 7

Working with a very experienced industry mentor builds a lot of confidence. No amount of self-read medium articles can replace this. Solving cases with a mentor closely simulates the core part of a PM's job — problem solving with a team.

Jai Ramchandani

Talvinder recognized individual learning styles and provided personalized support to ensure everyone could keep pace and thrive. This personalized attention significantly enhanced my overall learning experience.

  • context: role, level, company stage, constraints, recent wins

you walk away with
  • 2–3 role trajectory branches with tradeoffs called out
  • skill investments sequenced year-by-year (what to build by year 1, 2, 3)
  • 3–5 alumni whose path rhymes with yours — what they did, what worked, what didn't
  • 3 checkpoints with success criteria you can point to
  • when to switch, when to push, when to stay
// what this is not
  • not a 12-week plan (that's the action plan)

claude has no alumni data. it can draft a map that sounds right and reference nobody. this one names real PMs whose arcs rhyme with yours — because bir knows them and talvinder hired, fired, and promoted many of them.

you send
  • your action plan or career map (must have one — the call is a review, not a generation)
  • the specific decision or artifact to pressure-test — PRD, roadmap, offer letter, interview debrief, pivot question
  • the context you already wrote down — we read it before the call
what happens
  • 60 minutes live — talvinder reviews your plan or map, probes the weakest links, pressure-tests the call you're making
  • session recorded — you keep the recording
  • a 1-page addendum lands in your inbox within 48h, patched onto your plan or map
you walk away with

₹75,000 // 1 rep = ₹2 · cap 25% · same mentor · 4 sessions · every 2 weeks

you send
  • the skill gap you want to close, named out loud and agreed with your mentor
  • one real artifact from your job per session — not a case study
  • willingness to ship between sessions and have it marked
what happens
  • sessions every two weeks with the same mentor matched to your gap
  • between sessions — you ship against the gap, mentor writes feedback on your actual output
  • every session references your prior sessions; context compounds across the 8 weeks
  • every artifact graded against the PL rubric so improvement is measured, not felt
  • whatsapp check-ins between sessions for tactical questions
you walk away with
  • written summary after each session, stored on your PL profile
  • one measurable skill closed at the senior-PM bar — scored, not claimed
  • portfolio of 4+ graded artifacts from your real work
  • a trajectory you can point to in your next promotion conversation
// what this is not
  • not a placement program — we do not guarantee jobs
  • not for people unsure which gap to close (start with an action plan or career map)
  • not a replacement for doing the work — mentor feedback only matters if you ship

longitudinal feedback. claude can critique one artifact. it cannot tell you whether you're actually improving over 8 weeks against a rubric calibrated across 10,000+ prior PMs.

what to expect. what not to.

We would rather you skip the session than arrive expecting something we do not do. Here is the honest picture.

// what coaching here looks like
  • Your own work, read closely by someone who has shipped it.
  • Specific, marked-up feedback on the page — not vague encouragement.
  • Mentor matched to the gap you came in with, not a roster lottery.
  • The same mentor across the full program so context compounds.
  • A feedback loop that slowly rewires how you make product decisions.
// what we do not do
  • Churn out mock interviews by the hour.
  • Rewrite your résumé or LinkedIn as a standalone service.
  • Hand you a fixed course with pre-recorded modules.
  • Give generic career advice disconnected from your real artifacts.
  • Promise a job. Placement is the market's job, not ours.

what people ask before they book.

straight answers. no marketing language. if your question isn't here, email talvinder@pragmaticleaders.io and you'll get a reply from him.

i can just ask chatgpt or claude. why pay ₹1 lakh?

you can, for things claude has seen a million of. you cannot, for things that depend on context it does not have — the indian PM market, your company's politics, the specific promotion signal your VP uses, the rubric 10,000 prior PMs were scored against. the action plan we write references alumni arcs, not public writing. we cost ₹1 lakh because the rubric and the alumni graph took 8 years to build.

is this ₹1 lakh worth it? how do people actually think about the ROI?

two framings that have landed. first: the median 8-week or 12-week alumni reports a 40–200% salary bump within 12 months (see outcomes above — hareendhar, mithilesh, prateek are specific). at a ₹40L package, the delta pays the program back in under a month. second: you are paying for the cost of NOT making a wrong move — a wrong pivot, a wrong offer, a wrong company — which dwarfs the program fee. most learners start with a ₹5,500 1:1 to test the fit before committing.

can my company pay for this? will you talk to them or hr?

yes. roughly 30% of our learners come through l&d budgets. we give you a one-pager you can forward to your manager or l&d head — it covers outcomes, cohort history, curriculum, and a gst invoice template. if your l&d team wants a live call with talvinder to underwrite the spend, we do that. email talvinder@pragmaticleaders.io and we'll send the template within a day.

is emi available? what about gst / 80g?

emi is available via razorpay at checkout for the 8-week loop and 12-week intensive — 3, 6, or 9 months, no cost or credit-card-dependent cost. gst is charged on the 12-week intensive (₹1 lakh + 18%). gst invoice is issued on payment so you or your company can claim input credit. we are not an 80g-registered entity.

what if i miss a session or drop out halfway?

miss a session — we reschedule once per session with 24h notice. miss more than that in a cohort-paced program and we convert the remaining sessions to action-plan credits you can redeem within 6 months. drop out within week 1 of program start — full refund, no forms. after week 1 the program cost is fixed because cohort slots are held for you.

cohort-based or rolling? what does my calendar look like?

career map and 1:1s are rolling — book a slot, show up. the 8-week loop is rolling with a matched mentor. the 12-week intensive is cohort-based — new cohort every 6 weeks, 12 seats per cohort. next cohort dates and seats live in the close block below. expect 6–8 focused hours per week for the intensive, 2–3 for the loop.

is this in english or hindi? what about tamil, kannada, marathi?

sessions run in english with hinglish fluency throughout — most learners code-switch mid-sentence and that's welcome. whatsapp threads, action plans, and written feedback are in english. we do not currently run sessions in dravidian languages. if that's a hard constraint, we will say so and not take your money.

how do i know if we are a fit without committing ₹1 lakh?

three low-risk entries, each credits forward: (1) free skill scan — 8-minute diagnostic, tells you where you stand. (2) ₹999 action plan — 10-min form, we generate + talvinder reviews, 48h delivery. (3) ₹2,500 career map — 5–7 day, talvinder-authored, alumni-matched. each tier's fee credits to the next within 30 days. every long program has a 1-week no-cost exit from start date. if we are not a fit, we say so.

what is compass? how do reps actually work?

compass is our reps-based loyalty — free to join on any PL account. you earn reps by reading the manual, scoring on exercises, shipping artifacts, forum participation, and referrals. 1 rep = ₹2 of checkout credit, capped at 25% of any SKU. hit 10,000 reps and you earn compass-for-life: unlimited action plan refreshes, 50% off career map refreshes, 20% off all future cohorts forever, compass badge on your PL profile, early access to new cohorts. balance lives on your PL profile. earned reps expire 90 days after earning (prevents stockpiling), customer reps from purchases never expire. full details at /compass.
